Our Story

So, how did this American gal and Indian guy come together? Our story began in the lovely land of England in 2014. We had both carried a long desire to have a deeper understanding of the Bible and it just so happened our paths would cross as we attended the same School of Biblical studies to fulfill those desires of learning more about the word of God. Though we had great anticipation for what God wanted to reveal to us, neither of us expected what more would come…

Our friendship was not instant. For the first 3 months, the extent of our interaction was merely a “hello” in passing. Then it seemed so sudden that we began having moments of connection as we shared meals with classmates or small chats during a study breaks. It quickly became obvious that we wanted to see if this sudden friendship could be something more and so began our relationship in February 2015. As our school came to an end in June, we knew we needed more time together, so, we stayed in the UK for 3 more months.

During these 3 months, we got to know each other more and shared similar dreams of living a life in pursuit of God as well as a love for various creative expressions. What really sealed the deal on our friendship from the start, was our similar sense of humor  It was a precious time for us to grow deeper in friendship and love. 3 months went by too fast and before we knew it we were saying our goodbyes. We did not know when we would see each other again but we were hopeful that it would be sooner than later.

After 8 long months of maintaining our relationship long distance, we were reunited in May 2016 in India. This was an important time for us to decide what our future might look like together and for me, Cynthia, to see what life was like in India.

We did not waste any time! June 1st, 2016, on a beautiful rainy evening, Arun pulled up all his strength and courage and proposed! Though expected at some point during the visit, it was a wonderful surprise and an easy “Yes!” to say. Shortly after he proposed, we were able visit his hometown for our Indian Engagement to celebrate with his family.

As my visit came to an end, we decided we would have our wedding in India. I returned home in August, spent time with family and friends, packed up for the big move and then headed back to India in October to help Arun with wedding planning. With the help and support of dear friends and family we took one of the biggest steps of our lives and said “I do” to forever on December 1st, 2016. It was just the start of our journey of life together and we are so excited and expectant as to what the rest of the journey will hold!
